My name is Rachel De La Torre and I am an Occupational Therapist Registered and Licensed in California and Nationally Board Certified. I grew up in Woodland , attended Woodland High ( back when there was only one high school), and college just down the road at UC Davis. I Graduated in 2008 with a degree in Psychology and minor in Child Development. I had the opportunity to attend Samuel Merritt University where I received my graduate degree in Occupational Therapy in 2011.

I initially started my career working with the amazing Acute Rehabilitation Team at Dignity Health Sacramento. I then returned to Woodland when I had my own three children and then transitioned to a school based OT. I have been an OT for 14 years. I have worked with children from ages 3-16 with multiple diagnosis to include, sensory processing disorder, Downs Syndrome, Spina Bifida, Cerebral Palsy, Autism , and those who need just a little extra support with handwriting due to visual motor and fine motor difficulties.

I realized the need for an open space sensory gym when I myself purchased a sensory swing for my own little ones and realized how expensive this could be and also how much of the equipment some of our little ones with special needs require is inaccessible on a daily basis after school hours.

I look forward to helping children in the community access the sensory supports they may need in a safe and friendly environment.
